The wildlife all around the resort was great.
The peacocks were so “friendly”, and really loved you when you were eating chips and guac!
The flamingos were one of M’s favorite animals. We saw them every morning when we walked over the bridge to breakfast, and every night when we went to dinner. He was in awe of how tall their legs were and how pink their feathers were. There were also a lot of turtles hanging out in the flamingo pools.
The iguanas were HUGE! it was crazy to walk around and look up into the trees and saw iguanas just hanging out.
The resort had two parrots that hang out in the open air lobby. The green one was the only one willing to hang out on people’s shoulders or hands. M didn’t like the parrot on him so much, but thought it was crazy that I would let it hang out on my shoulder or on my hand!
The resort is also involved in a cat rescue program. With how many stray cats are around the island, the resort takes some in, spayed or neutered them, and then gave them a place to live.
